HALO
COUNTY COUNCIL OFFICE, SKÖVDE, 2018. Plexiglass, oil paint, silver foil.
“Halo, optical phenomena in the atmosphere, with arcs and rings… Halo comes from
Greek and means ring or circle… An older name in Swedish for halo is light courtyard.”

Situated in the building’s light yard the artistic design takes on and emphasizes the light
and its subtle and evocative language. The material used is transparent plexiglass, where
light is absorbed, dispersed and reflected through several layers.
A gentle grey scale of grey, white and silver stands against a strong, intense red colour.
This finely tuned scale gives rise to the many small light shifts. The red colour provides the pulse, the heart, the glow.
The work can be seen as purely abstract visual experiences, such as ethereal fields of
tension and dense energy. On a deeper level it also contains existential questions,
sensations of the moment and eternity. The work can in addition be experienced more concretely as soft and curved discs that interact, latch on and relate to each other in a
graphic dance.
